Last night via a text message, Stephen and I received some of the best news we've had in a year! Actually one year exactly is when Seth announced to me one morning that he had stayed up all night reading the book of John, and after had prayed and given his life to follow Christ! What amazing and wonderful news it is when someone you love becomes a Believer. Last night, we heard from our dear brother-in-law (my sister's husband) that he had read God's Word and been saved! We were so happy that once again, God heard our prayers and called another one to Himself. We are so happy and grateful for our brother's salvation.
I am also very grateful for God's promise in Isaiah 55:10-11, which reads:
"As the rain and snow come down from Heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
Even if you believe someone to be too hard hearted, too set in their ways to open their heart to the gospel, don't give up praying for them. Our God is mighty to save! Give away God's word generously! Don't rely on your words to convince people of the Truth - trust in His Word! God never promised to use our words, but He has promised to yield great fruit from His Word!
